The city of Lubudi (290 km from Kolwezi), at an altitude of 1,345 meters, enjoys a mild climate. It has taken on the air of a ghost town since Cimenkat (Cimenterie du Katanga) ceased operations. The town awaits a resumption of activities. As the gateway to the southern zone of the Upemba National Park, with the majestic Kayo waterfall on the Kalule-nord river (park entrance some 15 km from the town), and other nearby waterfalls (Dikolongo, Kawa, Dipera, Kamwanga), tourism prospects are emerging. The town boasts a number of industrial and architectural remains from the colonial era.
