Less than an hour from Brazzaville, the village of Maty is lost among the green hills. To get there, you take a bumpy track, especially in the rainy season, down to this isolated hamlet. There is little infrastructure, just a school for all the children. The inhabitants live mainly from farming and fishing. Since 2020, a 20 km marathon, the Walk'n'Run, has been organized in December, attracting over 2,000 people. The village is in full celebration on this day, and all eyes are on the amateur runners trying to win the top prize. A must-see event if you're in the area.
