A small town of about 100,000 inhabitants (including Pygmy tribes), located at the confluence of the Fimi and Molubampe rivers in the Mai-Ndombe district, Kutu territory. The only road is the dirt track of the airfield, which is a convenient route for cyclists and pedestrians. Nioki is the headquarters of Sodefor (ex-Forescom), whose main activity is logging. Accommodation is available at the Saint-Michel parish (built in 1946). Four priests still live there. 15 per night and a few rooms with rudimentary but clean comfort.
