Travel Guide Plat

In the extension of Soline, a few kilometers from Cavtat, Plat is the last pearl of the seaside necklace of Župa Dubrovačka. Lined with cypress and pine trees, the sandy beaches are the number one attraction of the town. Several hotels have appeared here in recent years. In terms of history, Plat was first mentioned in 1400 and today has three small churches - Sveti Ivan, Velika Gospa and Sveti Duh - of which the first is the oldest. In the second half of the 20th century, a hydroelectric power plant was built in Plat (in 1965) and it remains the most important industrial site in the region.
