An agricultural village, it first appears in 13th-century texts. Several lords owned land here: the abbots of Murbach, the Habsburgs, the Teutonic knights of Rouffach, the lords of Hattstatt... Until 1648, Biltzheim was under the vassalage of the Austrians. Vestiges of the Gallo-Roman past have been unearthed on the site known as "Unterfeld". A mill, the Biltzermühle, is said to have been remodeled in the 19th century. A pretty dovecote, the 18th-century presbytery and two 19th-century oratories are at the entrance to farmyards. The Rhine Ring will delight racing fans!
