Puerto Misahualli is the main river port on the banks of the Río Napo at the confluence of the Misahuallí. A pretty, peaceful village, it is one of the main departure points for excursions into the Amazon rainforest, and is very popular with tourists. You'll soon get the hang of it, as the village is reduced to the streets that flank the central park. Community tourism is widespread in the area, so there are plenty of opportunities if you want to live like a real local.
