This reserve is located about 40 km south of Quito. It contains an extremely varied fauna and flora. It is also a protected area. There are 232 species of plants, including 23 species of endemic orchids and a wide variety of medicinal plants. Among the mammals, you can meet marsupials, rabbits, weasels and maybe even pumas. Finally, there are 126 species of birds (including 14 different species of hummingbirds). The Refuge is in a good state of conservation thanks to the cooperation agreement in which its management is entrusted to the Natura Foundation, which specializes in conservation.
