Ahuano is a village that slumbers peacefully on the banks of the imposing Rio Napo, both a source of life and a communication route. The village is one of the most developed in the region, with several schools, a dispensary and a mission of the Josefino order. Its vocation is still the evangelization of the native communities of the region, some of which are located several days away by canoe, literacy training and medical care for the population. Ahuano lives from fishing, agriculture and tourism, which has recently been established in the region and is developing quite rapidly with the creation of new lodges in the middle of nature.
