Cizur Menor (Zizur Txikia in Basque) is a municipality of around 2,500 inhabitants on the outskirts of Pamplona. It boasts two Romanesque churches, one of which is a refuge for pilgrims run by the Order of Malta: the church of San Miguel Arcángel. This is located on the outskirts of the village. The other church, in the heart of the village, is dedicated to San Emeterio and San Celedonio. It is Romanesque in style (12th century), but has been reformed many times over the centuries, so that its structure combines elements from different periods, as in the case of its 17th-century tower. The portal is Romanesque, with its half-point arch.
