Bathed by the Égrenne, the Cance and the Boutron, Ger's territory incorporates a forest area of the rotten Lande that marked its history. Close to an exceptionally high quality clay deposit, the village has a prestigious potent epoch. From the fifteenth century and for more than five centuries, its economic activity focused on the production of potteries that mobilized more than 700 workers. The small city was then renowned throughout Normandy and even beyond for its sandstone pots. The Norman pottery museum located on the archeological excavation site that allowed the restoration of remarkable mixed ovens, testifies to this era.
