Some small villages are famous for their works of art. Here, the 80-metre-high railway viaduct dominates the valley. The village is pleasant, with winding lanes and houses clustered around the church, whose bell tower, at 65 metres, is the highest in Ticino. It houses the Centovallis and Pedemonte museums. The village's inhabitants were once known as chimney sweeps in neighboring Italy. It was also here that espadrille-style canvas shoes were made. Guided tours are available to discover the rich heritage that has left its mark on the town.
