Luxurious buildings of dubious taste are at the entrance of the village. Soon the ruins stand out on top of a hill. Walk through the village to the central square. Turn right to begin the ascent of the hill. As the road becomes narrower and narrower, it is easier to ask a child from the village to show you the way. Ask for "el Qalaa".You will pass by a medieval minaret from the 13th century (restored in 1959). After a steep slope, the site is 2 minutes away. The ruins are the meeting place for the young people of the village. They are not unpleasant but not very welcoming either. This small Roman temple was apparently as richly decorated as those of Baalbek. The walls of the cella, which are very degraded, are nevertheless preserved on almost all their height. Fortifications encircled the temple, which obviously dates from the first century. Then it was converted into a fortress by the Abbasids.Once on top, you will be rewarded by the view.
