This small fishing village, where the Lipoven population is in the majority, is one of the most typical of the delta. Nestled in one of the two loops of the Old Danube, away from the heavy traffic of the Sulina branch, it is made up of narrow streets winding between houses, surrounded by gardens where a few animals frolic. Traditions are well preserved. Don't miss the Lipovene church in the center of the village. The village owes its name to its location 23 miles from Sulina. Here you'll find a number of guesthouses and bed-and-breakfasts, as well as delicious traditional Lipoven cuisine.
