Nestled in a loop of the river north of Murighiol, this village of Lipoven fishermen almost disappeared under Communism, emptied of its inhabitants by Ceaușescu, who had built himself a resort there. A handful of families resisted and, after the revolution, Uzlina came back to life thanks to tourism. Today, people come here for the nearby Uzlina and Isacov lakes, popular with ornithologists: they are home to large colonies of pelicans.
