At the end of the ferry line, the last village before crossing the Ukrainian border into the Black Sea, Periprava is a charming little fishing village of around 100 inhabitants, built around a lake. It is mainly populated by Lipovens. Take a dirt track to Sulina, or stop off in the village of Letea beforehand. During the Communist era, Periprava was home to a notoriously cruel labor camp. At least a hundred people, mainly political opponents, died there.
