The first pulp mill in the Gaspé was established here in 1913. It has since closed, leaving behind disgruntled workers and high unemployment. Towards Grand Pabos Bay, Pointe de Pabos (or Pabos Mills), accessible from Route 132 or by the long walkway of the Circuit des Bâtisseurs, combines outdoor lodging, archaeo-adventure and unique immersive experiences in one place. There are also three beaches on the site, including a fine sand beach. A little further north, a ZEC allows you to fish for salmon, trout and other local fish.
