The abbey church is the remnant of a monastery, founded around 575 by Saint Arbagas, and surely the oldest in Alsace. The church dates back to the th century. In the nave you can see the alternation of square pillars and columns that will become one of the characteristics of the Romanesque-style Romanesque - or Rhineland. The tower on the transept cross was delayed late.
