Its special atmosphere, born of Georgian, Turkish and Russian influences, sea and Caucasian mountain tongues, is fascinating. Batumi is a lively city. A stroll along the seaside boulevard, lined with café terraces and restaurants, has a Georgian version of the Riviera. In the summer it attracts crowds from Tbilisi, Russia and elsewhere. A young and cosmopolitan crowd, who come to enjoy electrified nights and festivals, especially jazz.
