CHURCH OF THE VIRGIN

This religious building has a familiar air, the air of a 19th century French cathedral! It was the city's Catholic church, built in neo-Gothic style in 1889 by the Zulebashvili brothers. It was later transformed into an Orthodox church after independence. It is now the main Orthodox church in Batumi. A curiosity to see such an atypical building in the Georgian landscape! You will not pass by it and will notice without any doubt the contrast that the church of the Virgin Mary presents with the rest of the architecture.
