The Manzemhlope, then called "White Waters" by the local tribes, became Witrivier, then White River. Indeed, many springs flow in the area, which facilitated the development of an intense agricultural activity. With more than 3,000 farmers, White River is the South African village with the highest concentration of rural workers. But what do they grow? Nuts, in the Nutcracker Valley, citrus fruits and all sorts of tropical fruits. The opening of the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, 18 km from the village, has given a relative boost to local activity by facilitating access to the region.
