Travel Guide Platanias

Heading west from Hania, you will follow the tourist coastline to the seaside resort of Platanias. If you take the old Hania-Kissamos road and leave the national road behind you, you will pass through a continuum of convenience stores, small hotels and cafes without much interest. Mass tourism has definitely passed through here. Moreover, in Platanias, most of the rooms and apartments are booked by tour operators and groups from Northern Europe (remember to book!).So why stop there, you might ask? For the inland which is, on the other hand, superb. If you leave the main road to the south, you'll find yourself in the middle of the countryside in just five minutes, surrounded by olive and orange trees, far from the seaside activity. Those who will stop in Platanias will surely do so in the evening after a day of visit, to enjoy its lively evenings, but also, since you have been warned, to enjoy the surroundings the next day.
