The small seaside resort of Kokkini Hani is located 12 km east of Heraklion and 6 km from the airport. Thanks to its ideal position halfway between Heraklion and Hersonissos (13 km), Kokkini Hani is lively even in winter, as many Greeks come here on weekends. You can find the main tourist services: hotels, apartments and rooms to rent, some good restaurants, several pharmacies, car rental companies, stores, banks, a beautiful blue flag beach... Generally, the atmosphere is relaxed and family oriented in Kokkini Hani, unlike its party neighbor to the east. In the 1960s, it was a fishing village of about 100 inhabitants, without electricity.
