The seaside resort of Calasetta, about 15 kilometres north of the city of Sant'Antioco, is also the second largest city on the island. Its chequered plan bears witness to a recent foundation. For the historical part, Sant'Antioco is the place to go. It has good tourist facilities. Its small narrow streets, lined with pastel-coloured houses, give it charm and ensure its tranquillity. While Sant'Antioco is more lively, Calasetta offers a more family atmosphere. Due to the limited number of tourists, it is a nice place to get to know Sardinia and live like the locals.
