Going a little deeper into the surrounding mountains, you will reach the village of Jerzu, famous for its red wine, the famous cannonau, the Sardinian grenache. All around, orchards, olive trees and, a little further, cork oak woods. The area around Ulassai and Jerzu is famous for its strange rock formations. The limestone cliffs, shaped by the wind and heavy showers, have given life to fantastic figures. The village is also known for its wine and music festival which takes place every year in August. There are many possibilities for hiking from the village, and more precisely on the heights of Sant Antonio.
