Pula is a paradise for holidaymakers. Located opposite Cagliari, it has a winter population of 7,000, plus a few kitesurfers. In summer, the population swells with golden beaches, translucent waters, ancient remains, the Nora lagoon and its rare birds, and sumptuous sunrises over the Mediterranean. Just 30 km from Cagliari, Pula has become a luxury seaside resort, with a plethora of hotels, albeit at prohibitively high prices. From Cagliari, it's a 30-minute drive on the SS 195. Bus 129 leaves every 30 min in summer. The journey takes 50 minutes and costs between €2 and €4.
