It is a small fishing port with colourful boats, unfortunately invaded by concrete, but where the atmosphere remains pleasant. In 1996 the Punta Restinga Marine Reserve was created, whose steep seabed is home to caves, underwater forests and exceptional fauna. The village is dominated by red, brown and black volcanic cones, and large fields of cracked lava extend to the sea. Washed partly covered by sand and sea water. We enjoy the spectacle when the waves crash on the small cliff, cross the basalt arches and gush along the creeks carved by erosion, especially at high tide.
