Situated on a balcony overlooking the ocean facing the island of Tenerife and nestled at the foot of an enormous basalt wall, it is a typical small village with cobbled streets and divided into three small towns, La Montañeta, Las Casas and El Charco. Don't miss the seventeenth-century church of San Marco, which contains an icon of the Virgin of Merced. If you spend there at the end of April, you will discover the festival of San Marco, during which wood fires of about one meter in height are lit, which the young people have to climb over. Beware of the road that leads from Vallehermoso to Agulo, interesting, but often under the clouds which prevents visibility.
