Set between the mountains and the sea, this port is also a pleasant holiday destination. Inland lies the highest point of the Ionian Islands, Mount Enos. Rising to 1,628 meters, it is covered by a forest of fir trees. On its slopes, the 13th-century Atrios monastery overlooks the sea and offers extraordinary views. On the way back to the capital, you can visit the monastery of Aghios Verassimos, the island's patron saint. This small port offers several transfers a day to Kilini on the mainland (1h30). Although Argostoli is also a port, the capital is not the best served port on the island.
