Second port of Lemnos, this fishermen's village does not have much charm, even if it is not without charm. It is mainly a stopover before extending its route to its protected bay. An ideal refuge for ships, Moudros was once used as an Allied base for the disastrous Gallipoli campaign in 1915. The cemetery of the victims, nearby, testifies to this. With the beginning of the Balkan war, Moudros became a legend. An admiral, Pavlos Kountouriotis, settled there for the security operations in the Gulf, with two naval victories, in Elli on December 3, 1912, and in Lemnos on January 5, 1913, which strengthened the Greek domination in the archipelago.
