40 km southeast of Konya, at Madenşehir. Mount Binbirdirek (2,283 m) is sure to attract attention. It is an ancient volcano called Karadaş, considered sacred by the Hittites and the source of many beliefs and traditions in the region. It also houses a whole series of buildings dating back to the Byzantine period: churches, monasteries, fortresses, cisterns, military works, cemeteries, dwellings. The place having been abandoned by its occupants practically at the arrival of the Seljuks in Anatolia, time has erased a large part of the traces, not to mention the treasure hunters who have been working in the area for decades.

All this does not prevent the landscape from being sublime and the remaining traces are very interesting.
