This village is the last one before the border on the road to Constanța in Romania. Its sandy beach in the north is quite beautiful. Durankulak Lake is on the list of protected areas as a Ramsar site (wetland of importance). From December to February, at dusk, hundreds of thousands of geese, ducks, swans and white pelicans turn the sky into a flying carpet. A wooden footbridge leads to the island in the middle of the lake which shelters the remains of a temple of Cybele. A Neolithic necropolis on the western shore of the lake has revealed ceramic artifacts of the Hamangia culture, which can be seen in the Dobritch Museum of History.
