Between Rusalka and Durankulak, this town of 3,500 inhabitants is an inexpensive resort with long strips of fine sand. The two lakes of Shabla and Durankulak are located on the Via Pontica, the main migratory route of birds. More than 220 species can be observed in season, making it one of the most important bird reserves in Europe. The Cape of Shabla is 5 km east of the city. The lighthouse of Shabla dates back to 1856; it is the highest with its 32 m and the oldest in the country. It is also the most eastern point of Bulgaria. To eat, some mexana and bars, simple.
