Halfway between Phitsanulok and Chiang Mai, Lampang is a very charming town, especially the old Chinese market district and its houses of ancient architecture. It's very pleasant to stroll around town and stroll through the cafés along the river. Many works of street art adorn the walls of houses in the old quarter. Lampang has many original restaurants and cafés to discover. The main tourist attraction of this historic city lies some 20 km away: Wat Phra That Lampang Luang is considered to be one of the kingdom's most interesting temples in terms of Lanna architecture.
