Located about an hour southeast of Chiang Mai, Baan Mae Kampong is a popular tourist attraction for Thai people. Close to the San Kamphaeng hot springs, this small village has a real charm with its old traditional architecture. There are many cafes and small restaurants on site, some of which are located in unique surroundings, whether along a natural waterfall or on a hilltop. Small homestays are available, but the prices are clearly too high. On weekends, the village is literally taken over by the locals.
