At 5 minutes drive from the town of Cilaos, Bras-Sec is on the other side of the valley, at the foot of the summit of L'Entre-Deux. The village has little interest compared to Cilaos, except for its location, at the start of the Piton des Neiges trail and with a clearer view of the cirque, dominated by the Priest's Cap. With its dozens of gîtes, Bras-Sec is a good alternative when Cilaos is sold out! On the road to Bras-Sec, in the long straight line, the road crosses a forest of Japanese cryptomerias, these large conifers about twenty meters high. Picnic tables allow to appreciate the fabulous landscape.
