It can be seen in the distance coming from the coast: its black rocks emerging from the foam like figures, its turquoise pools bordering the village. The leaflets say so: this is the northernmost municipality in Madeira. Until 1533 it was called Ponta do Tristão. Once peaceful, this small "typical" village has changed profoundly in the last few years. But this is not Ibiza either! Let's just say it's the meeting place for excursion coaches. The centre of the village, on the heights, has been preserved, and the panorama from the viewpoint, from the road to Santa, confirms that the frenzy of construction has not completely disfigured the area
