Travel Guide Queimadas

The road to Queimadas is in perfect condition, and is in itself a pleasant drive. In the forest park of Queimadas, a big favourite for the Caldeirão Verde hike! First follow the course of the levada, then it's straight ahead. But you have to go through four tunnels. Caldeirão Verde is a beautiful place, a big waterfall sliced through the middle of ferns and mosses. Continue the walk to Caldeirão do Inferno: apart from a short climb, nothing difficult. The landscape is sumptuous, of a primitive grace. Finally, disembark in a valley deeply cut by the creative whims of the water (5 hours return).
