At 580 m above sea level, Cabo Girão is considered, rightly rather than wrongly, to be the highest cliff in Europe above the sea (in fact, the highest cliffs in Europe, at about 750 m, are in the Faroe Islands). In any case, what an impressive view from the lookout! Walk on tiptoe on its glass plates, gauging the emptiness and the crops below, dizzy! On the left, very small, the port of Câmara de Lobos and, in front, everywhere, the ocean. Spectacular! Please don't turn around to avoid the brutal confrontation with the other side of this cliff full of souvenir shops.
