At an altitude of 1,476 metres, this village of 712 inhabitants is the highest municipality in Spain. And for hikers, it provides access to the Mulhacén via the Siete Lagunas, glacial lakes. It's not lost on you that this is also the capital of ham, as white ham is naturally cured here. This has earned it a protected designation of origin. It's also one of the most charming villages, although tourists are more numerous in the barrio bajo. Once again, you'll be able to explore the barrios alto and medio along the steep, narrow streets so characteristic of the region.
