At 1,058 meters above sea level, this small village of 319 inhabitants belongs to the Barranco Poqueira, a ravine formed by the Poqueira river, and is also part of the network of Spain's most beautiful villages. It has become a refuge for many artists who appreciate its tranquility and luminosity. Its small square regularly hosts concerts and cultural events. It's from here that you begin to appreciate the fine gradients of the villages built along the slopes, their Berber architecture and the handicrafts of jarapas, colorful weavings specific to the Alpujarra. As for Pampaneira's water, it is renowned for its richness.
