Not to be confused with Flacq, a town in its own right located a few kilometres away, and whose name, given in honour of the first settlers, means "village" in Dutch. Poste de Flacq is only a sleepy seaside village with beautiful houses on its coastline and one of the jewels of the Mauritian hotel industry: the select and discreet Constance Prince Maurice. From this point onwards, the coral reef gets closer to the coast and the lagoon loses considerably in size, as do the beaches, which are almost non-existent. This is the end of the seaside section in the East. Access to the sea is made difficult by the villas.
