PIGNOL ZOLA

French cuisine restaurant €€

27 reviews
Open - Close to 19h00

It was in 1954 that Vital Pignol, a young boy from Saint-Etienne, set up a cake shop at the 17 of Rue Emile Zola, right next to the emblematic Place Bellecour. More than 60 years later, Maison Pignol has changed but the address has remained. Pignol, the caterer of choice, has become synonymous with exceptional receptions and now has 7 restaurants and shops, employing some 160 employees. This great house has, however, kept its soul and it is still enlivened by enthusiasts and demanding professionals like Jean-Paul Pignol. What is truly outstanding is that this shop never rests on its laurels, always offering new creations at any occasion, always seeking to do the best! At this "historic" address, Pignol offers us a cake shop, but also a restaurant on the two floors of the Pignol family's former flat! All in all, four different rooms, from the bistro atmosphere to the kitchen via the intimate lounge, to enjoy seasonal dishes that are different every day - such as this perch fillet in the heart of summer -, well composed salads with fresh produce, and of course, the wonderful homemade pastries. An address that is part of the city's gourmet heritage.

BISTRO MARTINE

Open - Close to 23h00

A gourmet opus for the series of Martine with Bistro Martine. In the heart of the neighbourhood of Ainay, just a few steps from the borough hall - moreover, you can still read Café de la Mairie engraved on the building's façade - this neighbourhood bistro opens its terrace onto a quiet street corner. Bistro Martine is one of the best surprises when you discover an area stingy with its warm and family addresses that make the reputation of Lyon. Then, you can sit on the terrace, in the middle of the flowers, as soon as summer arrives or in a dining room enlivened by a lovely counter with a discreet charm. A friendly atmosphere, smile guaranteed at every hour of the day, and especially at lunchtime where guests like to be around Martine to enjoy a good homemade cuisine with fresh seasonal products, just as it was done in the past. On this summer's menu, beef nose salad (which still makes it?), a melon, raw ham and mozzarella or a cold-cuts platter. Coming up next, homemade lasagna, grilled mackerel fillets, a beef tartare with razor clam or ravioli with cheese. A beautiful dessert menu, also homemade, and wine list accordingly. A wonderful neighbourhood address that should be a school.

LA PIAZZA PAPA

Italian restaurant and pizzeria
3.4/5
32 reviews
Closed - Open to 12h00

After the Mercière rue brasseries, why not try to change an Italian brasserie? Piazza Papa, with its terrace well located at the corner of the two bandwidth bandwidth and Palais-Grillet, offers an interesting alternative and not too expensive to many nearby establishments… If it is not the haute gastronomy Italian, it does not have the claim, it has the great virtue to be home, to be tasty and, once again, d a good price ratio with 20% discount between 19 h and 19 h 30! Effective service, especially due to the influx, for this enseigne who spread across France to propose carpaccio plates with choice sauce accompanied by fresh pasta (10,50 €), salads and then pizzas, some original, tasteful and some flavors of Italy, including a gorgonzola tender nut. The wines come from Languedoc-Roussillon and are, in the image of the teacher, warm.

SILK

Bistro and brasserie €€€
4.5/5
45 reviews

One of the reference addresses of the city, not only in the "brasserie" category but also simply restaurant, since Silk is much more than a brewery in our opinion. Built in the luxurious Sofitel hotel, Silk benefits from the tranquillity of the places, yet only steps from Place Bellecour and the hyper-centre of the peninsula. A both classic and completely atypical place with its decor that immerses us in the universe "vintage" of the 70s to the brilliant colours on a neutral background and in the universe of silk (which gives the name to the establishment). Between chic bistro, elegant brasserie and elegant restaurant, Silk is for everyone and not only the 5-star hotel high profile clientele. Best-in-class, refined and convivial service, beautiful home which is really hospitable, and a high quality cuisine which also fluctuates between the brasserie tradition with oysters, a Lyon salad, a famous 100% beef tartare, homemade burgers, one of which is truffle or a fresh salmon tartar, and the nice food service with roasted cod fillet, delicious roasted scallops or a rack of lamb and its pan-fried seasonal vegetables. Mother Richard cheese and a vanilla brioche with speculoos ice-cream. Other must-eat of the house: the omelet as you want it and the terrible chicken Sandwich Club. Beautiful wine list, grand crus, for a harmonious wine and meal pairing.

Every day of the week, the temperature rises at Confluence. A temperature that is measured by a very Lyon unit: the degree Selcius (see our Start of Month section). And when Sunday comes, the temperature doesn't go down, with a great brunch that combines quality dishes and quantity of dishes. In a fantastic setting where you can feel both in love and as a family, in spaces with contemporary forms, warm and adapted on every occasion, each reserve has its weekend brunch at the Selcius. For 37 €, you will not only spoil yourself with the will (non-alcoholic drinks) of products of various and varied quality - with the breakfast buffet, its pastries, eggs or bacon…, the various BBQ grills, the seasonal vegetables, the fatty liver, smoked salmon, oysters and bulots in winter, pizzas, salads, cheeses or cold meats, not forgetting the crêpes stand, barbapapa and pop corn! You love it, but you want to stay so comfortably installed beyond the advertised schedule. Other fun, the animation for children cared for by a specialist team so that the parents can enjoy in depth… She's not the beautiful life?

ESPACE CARNOT

28 reviews
Open - Close to 00h00

A place to which Les Lyonnais does not pay enough attention and which is still a boon for people arriving in Lyon by Gare de Perrache on a place Carnot. A space that opens in the area of Carnot with a superb terrace and on Victor Hugo Street in the direction of Bellecour. A space that has taken another dimension since the chef Roger Jealous, one of the Best Workers in France who spent a few years alongside a certain Paul Bocuse, took over the orders of the house. Just sit down at the beautiful shaded terrace or discover the warm decor recently redone, playing with the transparencies and light, composed by the architect Florent Egasse. Quality cuisine by a chef Blanches White Lyon who delivers his version of lyon specialities: poached eggs in meurette, bowl of homemade foie foie, forest brochet sauce American sauce. Side card, gras gras steak, fruity sauce, well-composed salads, excellent XL tartare, home hamburger, salmon tartar, to finish with snow eggs, terrible waffles or delicious chocolate and its vanilla ice. 39 reviews
Closed - Open to 12h00

Named after the Cook Pierre de la Varenne (the creator of sauces and various sauces, this th century cook is the author of a famous book as one of the first cookbook), this Bistro is more than just a bistro. On a peaceful square in the Quartier des Antiquaires opening up to the Rhone, the Bistrot La Varenne is an invitation to enjoy a wide range of leisure times. On the terrace or in warm (but air-conditioned) rooms, this restaurant/wine bar is not lacking in elegance or conviviality around Jean-Baptiste Dumond. Every Thursday and Friday, the Bistro organizes the "Work, Metro, Bistrot" (after work 18 h/21 h) to share around a good glass of wine (more than 40 references with small producers selected with care), and a board (charcuterie or local cheeses) to enjoy among friends. In cooking, Chef Yoann Richard prepares home-made dishes from products of artisans and small producers (some products to be found in the grocery corner). With its own (rare) sauce, it gives taste and taste to a map that follows the seasons. This summer, a true beef tartar with a knife like La Varenne or a creamy burratina at the "Fabioyann". To follow, a French beef fillet at low temperature, light béarnaise or a yellow place, roasted vegetables and bergamot marmelade, piquillos sherbet. Refined cheeses and pyramid with two intense chocolates, creamy caramel caramel to finish. Opened since 2015, a real discovery of the Smart this year and an authentic coup de coeur for a whole in the spirit of Lyon, that is, good humour and excellence.

MAMMA OSTERIA

Closed - Open to 12h00

Ti amo, io sono, ti amo. Futé is always in love with Mamma and even more when it hears Umberto Tozzi's hit in this room of another age where you feel so good. Mamma is the Italian restaurant, an osteria, that we dream of. The terrace belongs to our favourites in this Rue Pleney which is transformed into a pedestrian street in summer. The small scorching heat of this summer allowed us to appreciate an aperitivo in a very warm evening. Aperol Spritz, Italian cold meats and cheeses at each round! When you will read these lines, it will be time to find refuge in a vintage room where Formica tables, a splendid checkered floor and objects which captivate our attention, like this screen that plays white and black films with the beautiful Marcello or these 100% Italian toilets reign. Well, this is before you are served the 100%-homemade dishes. The products are remarkably fresh, the speck is delicious and whether you choose to treat yourself with a bruschetta mozzarella rocket and pesto, homemade antipasti, first-class pizzas or an Italian seasonal dish, to end with a limoncello pannacotta, happiness remains the same. The wine list, which is often organic, is in harmony with the dishes. We should note that the service is particularly pleasant. An address that is permanently among our favourites.

For souvenirs, for good humour and for gourmandise. These are the feelings that can bring you without fear in this food-hungry bistro in post-war years. To tell you, nostalgia played full play on our father in Lyon, who found himself in these places a little bit of his childhood, of the aperitifs of yesteryear, of the spirit that reigned in the cafés of his youth. A smiling and playful home, a hétéroclite decor and you will have to go back more than once to detail all the inscriptions and discover all the objects of another era. Coffee tables in a room in depth, including a very large table for evenings among friends, to play cards why not. You can't stop ordering an aperitif out of the time machine and continue with seasonal bread, made of quality ingredients, or with soup, hot or cold, for those who like to eat liquid… A nice concept that deserves to be stopped, even when it takes -long sometimes-to wait outside to have a table! Discover the other 8 th Grocer, near the Tobacco Manufacture. A little bigger, a little more student, but with the same charm to old.

CITY BAGEL’S

5/5
1 review

The bagel, this ring-shaped roll made of a unleavened dough plunged into boiling water before going to the oven, is a bit of the American Jewish pizza that now offers many variants. This address of the heart of the peninsula presents us with a small range of bagels in orange new York decor of best taste. From Time Square to Central Park, Chinatown, you can indulge in its cute sins with cream-cheese, magic chicken and other crispy onion. Salads are honest accompanied by a fresh drink and at the time of desserts, the chocolate sugar au. We're a long way from the capital of gastronomy, but from time to time, it's also good to meet other cultures.

TI AMO MARIA

In your opinion, who can an Italian say "I love you"? His girlfriend, mother or acciughe (grandmother)? All three, bravo! With a preference for grandmother Maria who has passed on the best taste of her country to Luigi, the chef who makes us share his delicious recipes. And if Jérémy's grandmother was not Italian, it must be recognized that the other membre's pizza is delicious. An atypical setting - look at the ceiling - a small room that delivers souvenirs from Italy to enjoy a map that divides between traditional cuisine and pizza. On both sides, even concern for quality and origin of products. Small prices and fine achievements in plates with dishes of the day to the names that make them dream, like these ricotta chicken polpettone and wrapped poulet in a speck of speck… Not forgetting the gnocchis according to the seasons, such as this surprising and delicious summer pears, the famous Bobo pizza or Torta della mama to finish. In this area where eating can be complicated, an address should not be missed.

LE CENTRE

Very modestly, and because the huge Georges Blanc has common sense, it seems that the head of Vonnas has gone in our direction by slowing down the increase in these rates and by "refocusing" on other dishes than around meat. Even if the card still offers a Burger Gourmand in the county (bread and French quality meat) at the same time 21 €. The decor remains the same and is rather successful, avoiding making this restaurant a cliché of its kind with its relevant inscriptions. The kitchen is equal to what one is entitled to expect from a house worn by this multi-star chef. The card still features pieces that you won't find anywhere else, meat selected with special care such as this Black Angus Beef Tomahawk (94 € for 2 people) or a Japanese beef mudflap Wagyu at 38 € 180 g. All meats are exceptional and the sauces are homemade. But we also like to turn to a block in the crust of fatty liver marble, "King Prawns XL" gambas, a "new" lobster of Tristan da Cunha baked to Plancha or beautiful sole meunière, not forgetting another Fleeced Zum De, as well as a supreme volaille façon. A nice response from a centre that should not be overwhelmed. Smart follows the case carefully.

It is a king, nothing alone, that opens the rue du Palais Grillet and its succession of restaurants. In the heart of Lyon, King Falafel offers Lebanese, near-oriental cuisine, which is often believed to be fat, but wrongly! In King Falafel, delicious cuisine that knows how to feed us in a fairly balanced way for truly reasonable prices in generous plates. In a sober decor tinged with green touches, well-made plates (salads, tabbouleh, particularly tasty kafta, stuffed grape leaves), a number of which are perfectly adapted for vegetarians and vegans, and to take sandwiches and buckets with the numerous homemade specialities. Another way to eat quickly, to make a culinary trip right in the centre of Lyon. An address that takes root!

Closed - Opens in 12 minutes

After a wining return, Docks 40 changed direction but did not change formula. The day, it is the ideal address of the district of Confluence to be on one of the most beautiful terraces of the city, facing the Saône, for a drink or lunch while enjoying a brasserie menu. At the time of the aperitif (which is readily prolonged), you continue with tapas in a lounge atmosphere, which is real success. The evening continues on the table in a renovated decor. Silver glints goes around a modernized room whereas beautiful photographs catch the eyes. Among the tapas on offer: a terrine of foie gras accompanied by its fig bread, a dish of involtini, a served whole Abruzzese sausage, a tasty charcuterie platter; next, the meat's tapas with a quail fillet lacquered in yakitori's way, a delicious duo of mini-burger or fish tapas with a mid-cooked salmon smoked with Sichuan pepper or the pan-fried prawns with chopped parsley; before finishing with sweet tapas, like these fruit skewers with chocolate sauce. Careful, do not dine too late, because as the bell sounds from 23:00 and the music and the dance are replacing the catering service, facilitating our digestion. Docks, much more than a restaurant, is a crucial address during the day and night, recommended by Futé.

Not always easy to find there rue Mercière where vigilance must be put for the gourmands looking for a good address. New offer this year, instead of the Blue of You, a restaurant that comes from the ordinary of a street mainly dedicated to the Lyon restoration with a cabin halfway between the Savoyard restaurant with its wooded and warm decor - a little way a trapper's hut - and the charentaise hut where one comes to eat a mouclade (mussels). A cabin without gastronomic pretensions, but a pleasant place where you can find refuge in the middle of a lively and noisy street. The hotel is a good place to stay in the heart of the city. It is a good place to stay. Salted and sweet pies of season, gourmet toast, dessert plates and cheese, not forgetting desserts also homemade. It's a good idea for you to enjoy the delicious cuisine, but it's a good taste for the kindness and pleasure of sharing around a really friendly table.

BISTRO REGENT

French cuisine restaurant €€
4.3/5
80 reviews
Closed - Open to 12h00

The promise of place supported by a leader to "great" gueule and heart is simple: make you eat fresh products at lower cost. Promise only partly held after a meal that takes more of the "concept" than of the kitchen, which seems to us to be a height for a restaurant "chef". From our installation in a minimalist room, only a few funny quotations on the walls to attract our attention, a lady comes to "sell" our meal, forgetting to quote the famous "Philippe Etchebest of Top Chef". It's after the problems arrive at the same time as the dishes. There is no doubt about the quality of farmed salmon or the freshness of meat, but nothing is really cooked, just cooked. Charmelcia sauce, incidentally without interest, is forgotten, just like bread, while the appetizer's peanuts end up cooking on the flat heater that will be used to keep chips (will) warm. Disappointing. And the tartar is showing an incredible "platitude", dry, and without the possibility of season to our taste. The other disappointment is the price. Because in the end, adding a dessert to 6,50 € - again, a vacherin with a taste of water not terrible - and a beer at 3,90 €, the meal returned to more than € 23 without entrance, without coffee (1,90 €)! No doubt Smart hoped for it too much in a rue des Marronniers little known for the quality of these establishments (there are still caps where, for an equal price, or even less, one can eat fresh and cooked products… Read and be Smart).

Behind the red facade of this address located in this part of Mercière Street that we prefer, far from catch-tourists, here are Les Pâtes Vivantes, an ensign that the Smart had already crossed in Paris and that he finds with pleasure in the streets of Lyon. Do you know the pizzaïolos that fly the dough? Well, let's discover the cooks who feed the pasta! Yes, fresh pasta that is stretched like ropin, pasta dance to get a unique texture, melt under the tongue and crispy under the tooth! In soup, beef noodles eat, in sauce or skipped accompanied by vegetables. A few specialties such as these nord façon or a beef touch the perfectly sky! Japanese cakes and fresh pineapple to land smoothly. A small map of wine and beer. Groups welcome. A Chinese address that opens up gourmands horizons.

The picnic being the favourite activity of the French during their holidays, what good idea to propose to be on holiday all year long! Because it's a bit of feeling that you feel like coming to this part— not pedestrian, but paradoxically so much calmer… - from Mercière Street and discover this beautiful corner house with a restaurant in the form of a "country house". It's cool, pimpant, a rustic strand with the shelves where a few good bottles are planted and the tables don't embarrassant to recevoir us. The reception is a charming lady looking after us in this soothing setting where we invite you to read the slate of the day when you find the "classic" of the house and of the seasonal dishes. In carefully composed plates, there is a carpaccio of jacques and Smoked salmon or salmon rillettes and house quenelle. To follow, well-composed salads, a roasted breaded self-marcellin, raw ham, potatoes, salad, home burgers served with skipped apples and salad, not to mention the Ravioles of Mother Maury. Side desserts, Valrhona chocolate cream or renversée cream with almonds and caramel. A small corner of the city's gourmet holiday, it's so good to take that you don't need to miss it!

Everyone must find their place in the rue des Marronniers. The concept of Chez M'homme is interesting in many ways, since it allows us to broaden our horizons without forgetting that you are in the land of Lyon. Some will regret that man does not make a real choice, but a mother must satisfy everyone! In M'homme, it is the kitchen of our regions, a wide palette offering us a culinary journey from Provence to Savoy (diots to white wine and crozets), with detours by Cantal to taste a famous cancoillotte and smoky apple smoke and by the Jura. Back to the origins with a tablier tablier deck, a hot sausage served with the brains of canuts or pike quenelles which will be told of the property. This spring, we enjoyed the fine maxi-salads card and a marinated beef carpaccio. Simplicity, simplicity, you're invited to a family table by a lovely boss around a free kitchen that doesn't say it, and it's often better than that! To complete the table, a point of originality with this table suspended on the ceiling. You're so good at me, even head upside down.

Everything is peaceful, harmonious and it is easy to forget its urban stress on the threshold of O'Sushi. Ideally located in a pedestrian walkway between the place des Des and the rue de République, here is a "café-restaurant" that has been able to bring us comfort for 6 years now. First, a word on the refined garden of the places, before talking about a terrace among the most pleasant. The room is simply magnificent, mixing between the old with its apparent stones and its ceiling in French, and the modern, with beautiful pictures attached to the walls. A warm room where one is perfectly welcomed by a charming person who presents the concept of the establishment. A concept based above all on dishes of the day inscribed in slate according to the market and the inspiration of Chef Florent Gutierrez. It is well achieved with good products, not too sophisticated a chic bistro kitchen: Charolais beef tartare, Black Angus beef mudflap, Bellota Iberian fleeced, grilled squid tubes, Thai fresh salad. To finish with strawberries or cheesecake, and its grout of raspberries. It is true that we will return to this address, which has certainly brought comfort to more than one gourmand in the city centre. Novelty of the year: an extension with the annexation of a neighbouring establishment that is transformed into a private room, ideal for organising events with family or friends.

Closed - Open to 11h30

By taking on board what the French consumer expects from the decor of an Asian brand, Meiji Era comes first to us. In the very central Thomassin street, this Japanese restaurant offers the kitchen in a decor that could be that of a chic European brewery with this presence underlined of the black, these chesterfield benches, all without a special sign related to Asia. In short, it is apparently very marketé to give a modern picture of Japan. More traditional, Japanese cuisine offers us its essential sushi, which is pretty successful for our taste, rolls or tatakis. Des menus, already seen, to the Chirashi menus, less seen, Japan does not offer here its best culinary face and, past the course of discovery and decorative suprise, not sure that Meiji Era will seduce us. When Japan falls through a "conceptual" restoration, as often happens in Lyon, the result is not really Smart.

Between two restaurants "traditional" on rue des Marronniers, this is a contemporary address that makes it talk about it. Les have the intelligence to propose different burgers from everything that is already done (and it is doing a lot in this burgers sector). The first thing we appreciate is the ability to sit down on the small terrace on the pavés of this so typical street or in one of the two rooms (one upstairs) well-appointed. A really nice home for a young man who explains to us, we repeat with the smile, the content of the card (especially as it changes regularly according to the seasons) with well-composed burgers like this Brother, the classic house, Captain Jack (jack's shavings meat), a salmon and mango tartar (a shooting) or a Vegetarian (homemade vegetarian steak)). Everything is good in these burgers without a taste of taste and there are even beautiful cutlery on the table to take full advantage of their fingers. Dessert with destructurées pies or dessert of Des: Dough cream, Bourbon vanilla and Nutella. In the end, a good address of burgers, both on customer relationship and on the quality and originality of the kitchen. Some of the best burgers in Lyon.

Apparently, rue Mercière is not the one we think of when we are looking for novelties. Full of strong institutions in charge of feeding, with more or less joy, Lyon residents but mostly visitors come in gourmet territory, rue Mercière is not popular to change establishments. This year, it is a bit of revolution, especially in the "heart" of the street, on the "old" side (you will notice that the Saone side of rue Mercière is much older than the Rhone side, transformed at the opening of the Peninsula main streets). Among the newest, the Fiston. This "fiston (son)" is Julien Dargaud, fell into the cauldron of the kitchen from his childhood. In a place tastefully decorated by Pierre Chaduc, the Fiston offers a traditional, tasty and inexpensive cuisine... All you need to be delighted without resistance. Futé advises to start on the terrace by sharing a board of Fiston. Then, attack with an Emulsion of crustaceans and its prawns blazed with cognac. To be followed with well composed salads, a homemade burger, a pasta shells cocotte, parmiggiano reggiano and truffled ham or a must-eat Camembert roasted in the oven, new potatoes, raw ham and salad. Fiston other delicacies, tartares and carpaccios, Angus flank steak or a royal seabream fillet sauce trumpets of the death. Crème brûlée with vanilla and tiramisu with red fruits to prolong the pleasure of being in a Mercière street that became very reputable.

Eating and much more than eating, this is what this dining room created by the Auteuil Apprentices. Its primary goal is not to make you eat, but to train the young people from 16 to 25 years of age in school, social or family difficulties. Framed by real professionals, in real situations, these young people will integrate all the good gestures and know-how in kitchen and room to be used quickly after their training. Eating at the Dining Room is therefore also an act of solidarity to help young people train under the best conditions. The restaurant, located on the Cours Charlemagne between Perrache and Confluence, offers a pleasant setting. Short card for a careful traditional cuisine made by young people anxious to do well. Economic midi formula with services, beautiful surprises and classics such as this Lyon salad or andouillette to Beaujolaise. Desserts, especially pastries, particularly successful. Service applied and ultimately more pleasant than in many restaurants. The Dining Room also offers a gourmet dining table with much more than a solidarity gesture. Address advised.

MRS WYNN

Vietnamese restaurant €€
4.2/5
26 reviews
Closed - Open to 12h00

Can Asian rhyme with chic? Answer given by Mrs Wymm, alias Sylvie Huynh: yes, of course! This address in the very central and very required Rue du Palais-Grillet shows how much Asian cuisine is capable of "fusion" while preserving its traditional soul. It is always a happiness to sit in terrace in this quiet street of the city centre, but even more at Mrs Wynn where the reception shows great kindness. Service with wide opening hours to start at the afterwork (specialty of Wednesday at Mrs Wynn's) with an aperitif accompanied by Asian tapas - very wide menu with bouchées vapeur, spring rolls, sushis, chicken skewers with lemon grass or a delicious beef & chips with Thai herbs - and to finish after midnight by listening to good sound. In dining room, soothng deco rwearing red to enjoy the cuiisine of a chef, Patrick Ramsany, who has remained at the helm of Key Largo in Saint-Tropez for 17 years. Very beautiful dishes, tasty, to travel between Asian countries and to go back to France: foie gras terrine with Asian spices, Thai pepper chutney, lobster ceviche or a banh-cuon revisited with duck to get started. Coming up next, a delicious wok with prawns seasoned with garlic and black pepper, a sea bass in banana leave to be discovered with a beautiful gourmet curiosity, an astonishing Thai bouillabaisse with seafood, a Black Angus beef fillet with Thai sauce or a bo bun. Fine choice of very successful sushis. Apple ginger tarte tatin or chocolate nems and spicy caramel sauce to finish on a sweet note. A destination full of gourmet attractions.

BRASSERIE LE DANDY

French cuisine restaurant €€€
4.6/5
26 reviews

Futé congratulates Le Dandy for having managed to impose its style in a central neighbourhood, right next to Palais du Commerce, and yet it's not that easy to highlight. Le Dandy's asset is first of all the welcome and the perfect service. Wide opening hours, but mostly great smiles and a real passion of the welcome team which may even touch an expert accountant. There is always room in this great Dandy, on the terrace or in the room that hides some secrets (especially during lively evenings), which has managed to update a carefully crafted brasserie menu. This summer, salads (Caesar, Gourmande, Perigordine, Pêcheur…) have had our preference, but the eggs in Burgundy red wine sauce can delight us in any season. A rather short menu for a brasserie, but guarantees the quality of the dishes: Dandy Burger, pan-fried beef filet with morel sauce, a whole fish of the day roasted with virgin olive oil, a fisherman's risotto, Lyon specialities like an andouillette gratin served with her gratin Dauphinois or a calf's liver seasoned with parsley. Fresh fruit salad, a delicious gourmet coffee and homemade ice-cream. Interesting wine list. Meal, drink, afterwork and even evening party, Le Dandy won the bet and is part of the gourmet countryside landscape.

TAKUMI

Japanese restaurant €€
4.4/5
26 reviews
Closed - Open to 12h00

The Ainay area offers the finest surprises and best culinary travels. In Rhône, just steps from Rue de la Charité, here is a novelty which takes us to the opposite, since Takumi is a genuine Japanese restaurant in "dim bar" version. Small summer terrace on the street, but especially a room which is both sober and warm. A counter with a few chairs for those in a hurry and a room in the mezzanine to relax and enjoy the kind welcome and service. Even the "novices" of ramen (Japanese pasta served in seasoned and seasoned and garnished broth) will soon become unconditional regulars of Takumi. What are the reasons? The quality of the reception and service, as we've said, but also the quality of the dishes elaborated with quality ingredients. Homemade cuisine made at the moment, full of freshness and flavours, in "bowl plate" which are both beautiful and delicious. The ramen are complete and comes in a "simple" version (pork slice, soy shoots, bamboo heart, young onion, algae), in "Tempura" version with shrimps, Chashu with eggs, Bollywood with eggs, Bollywood with curry or Vegetarian. Other dishes on the menu, chicken curry and rice or a Gyu-Don, chopped beef with onions, which are also delicious. Wonderful Tiramisu with green tea to finish and a beer or Japanese lemonade as accompaniment. A new sweet destination.

BUVETTE SAINT-ANTOINE

Bistro and brasserie
2.6/5
26 reviews

At the end of the beautiful footbridge facing the law courts, benefiting from a new terrace on Quai de Saone, Buvette Saint-Antoine is not really a recent address, since it has been the "Lyon inhabitants' meeting place" since 1872! Yes, but, it's a place which we have abandoned in favour of the new banks of the Rhone which offer a more pleasant setting all the same, let's admit it. As time goes by, the banks of Saône was restored at the same time as this famous Bar which has found a new lease of life. On summer evenings, open-air café atmosphere with music and well-served seafood, but still pleasant snacks with salads which are largely worth others, ideal boards to accompany an aperitif, like this whole sausage or toasted spread available according to all the desires, without forgetting the ice-creams and the beautiful drink menu and a wide range of champagne. There are many "all inclusive" package to enjoy on the Quai de Saône within a very nice atmosphere.

BIG FERNAND

Burgers to go €€
2.7/5
3 reviews

The least we can say for this address is that there's testosterone behind the counter. All snowmen dressed with a tile shirt and a blue deck, they resemble a band of hipsters as well as a brigade of cooks. The main thing in this "undue" atmosphere is that they all smile and take the time to receive you very properly, even a bit of conversation. Big Fernand is frankly cool - the "offset" of the sign -, but it's mostly good. Let's take a good point to home fries called the Fernandines (French fries are the feminine touch of this brand?), golden golden gold like you love. Otherwise, Big Fernand does not make hamburgers, but hamburgés. The difference is not clear, but the ingredients are French and quality. So, rather than mal a bad slice of Cheddar and a rotten sauce, we prefer the slice of tomme of Savoy fondue and Tata Fernande's home sauce. On the side of the drinks, you can indulge in the Artisanales's artisanales artisanales, French strawberries in sugar, Gisèles or cotta. In the end, Big Fernand marks many Points in our ranking of the good addresses of burgers in Lyon, especially as the house also makes deliveries.

LE GRAND CAFÉ LYONNAIS

French cuisine restaurant €€
2.7/5
3 reviews

Le Grand Café Lyonnais is first of all a place at the corner of rue des Marronniers and rue de la Barre opening onto the huge place Bellecour. The terrace is not the most attractive in the neighbourhood, but you can sit inside to discover the cuisine of a chef we know, Roger Jaloux. One of the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France 1976 (and member of the Toques Blanches) does what he does best: a bourgeois cuisine learned at Paul Bocuse where he officiated for nearly 40 years (it was one of the first apprentices with other great names of the Lyonn cuisine like Marguin or Orsi). In short, the chef knows his business and allows gourmands - and the several tourists roaming the neighbourhood - to revisit the Lyon classics: poached eggs in meurette way, pike quenelle, andouillette braised with shallot, without forgetting the sauerkraut coming straight from Gast's. You conclude with a waffle like Grand'Mère's and its chocolate cream and Chantilly cream. An establishment open with wide schedule, where you can quench your thirst before roaming the streets and prolonging the break.

NAMASKAR

Indian restaurant €€
2.5/5
4 reviews

From the facade of Indian temple to the vast contemporary room, Namaskar does everything it can to make us travel in this environment that is ultimately unsuitable for escape. Special mention for the service that really folds in four to make us discover India's best face and traditional cuisine carried out on-site, including the tandoor, the Indian oven par excellence. Very large card and virtual obligation to be guided by the server to make its choice. Do not miss to taste the "dal makehni", the inevitable dish of Indian lentils, and to a famous naan billed 4 € for a cheese version…

PLANET SUSHI

Japanese restaurant €€
2/5
4 reviews

It was not mentioned last year, but already Planet Sushi had hit the 6 th arrondissement. It was probably thought that the sushi invasion would stop there, satisfying the needs of a chic and demanding clientele working at the Brotteaux in search of new culinary sensations. Well no! How not to react to the opening of a new address in the heart of the city, at the emblematic corner of Grenette street and rue Mercière, even though the latter has not been the guardian of the Lyon gastronomy for a long time. We will probably be treated with old "réacs", but we had to dare to offer sushi, especially of this poor quality, at this location. We talk about "culinary creation", but we are always looking for the fish in this maki! We talk about fusion food, but how do you enjoy a maki in foie gras? Planet Sushi is apparently more than 180 products to "taste", but how do you want this to be fresh when the products are presented as a ready-to-eat collection? In the area of marriage between Japanese and European cuisine, Lyon offers so much better than ignoring this address.

ESCALE A BELLE-ILE

Crperie
2/5
2 reviews

The rue des Marronniers, traditionally dedicated to Lyon cuisine and not always the best, offers us a new Stopover in Belle-Ile. While last year, we had the choice between Brittany and Savoy, the balance has definitively turned to the west side of France with new owners. Small terrace in the street, warm rooms covered with blond woodwork adorned with a few marine photos, reception and service of exemplary discretion and remarkable efficiency. This leaves us all leisure to savour the pancakes and pancakes of a genuine crêpier adhering to a group of real professionals who defend the good taste of buckwheat flour, here 100% organic, and a completely homemade fabrication based on fresh produce. The classics are déclinent déclinent, from ham egg cheese to spinach cream cream, and we cracked for a galette to Brittany's massive that one would have liked even more generous (when it's good…). Beautiful salads of the vegetable garden, well-appointed and well composed, and among the many pancakes, a wonderful treat to the caramel salt De salt, a treat.

SUSHI WA LOUNGE

Japanese restaurant €€

Closed - Open to 12h00

Sushi is an art that few cooks master. True, very little on Lyon and we are happy to enter the world of Sushi Wa Lounge, small frêre of an excellent Japanese restaurant, the Takeyama located on the same street. Eating at the Sushi Wa Lounge is an unforgettable experience to renew as often as possible (and as it is open every day!). Without being frightened by the word "lounge", too, in all the sauces, we discovered a splendid interior, a harmonious blend of Japanese tradition and modern touches. If the small lounge with a low table is most pleasant, you can settle near the famous treadmill where the wonders prepared by a Korean chef in sushi, maki, sashimi and other California roll. The plats soups, salads and original dishes that bring us to the land of the rising sun are also included in the plats. A quality, dépaysante and tasty address in the heart of Lyon.

DU CÔTÉ DE CHEZ XANE

Thai restaurant €€
3.1/5
7 reviews

We are not really on the side of Chez Swann, since this passage (careful, it is not a traboule) open between Quai Saint-Antoine and Rue Mercière takes us to Thailand. A totally unexpected setting for an exotic restaurant in many ways. First, because among a series of bouchons and other custom-tailored restaurants for the many tourists who pace up and down the neighbourhood, this one takes us where we do not expect to be, in Thailand. Secondly, because the restaurant occupies a more than discrete passage, more visible by the Saône-side wharf than by Rue Mercière, and that it is settled on both sides of the passage! Two dining rooms facing each other to taste a good-quality Thai cuisine, made by a traditional chef. For the reception and the service, Futé continues to claim that they are irregular and you can be received with a smile, just as you may feel really unwanted. Futé tried to eat there this year, but a person told us that the service wouldn't start before 1pm! Don't get hungry too early… and resume work at 2pm. Another weak point in the house, the desserts that are not a specialty of the destination. Original address rooted in the local landscape, but too "uncertain" to be recommended.
