On the right bank of the Saône, it is both strange and logical that this commune chose the "Saône" suffix rather than "in the Mont d'Or". A pleasant town of about 3 000 inhabitants, Albigny has historically shared between the Mountain, where the old castle of the th century and its emblematic donjon dominate the Saône, and the river below. The Saône, on which there are two islands belonging to the municipality, including that of Préservée preserved and populated with birds, has allowed the development of a river stop, the Port des Monts-d'Or, giving access to boaters at the shops and restaurants of Albigny. A trail allows you to visit the city and climb up to the Crêt of Albigny, at 423 m above sea level, opening an exceptional view over the whole region towards the balcony of the Alps.
