The fortress, perched on its basaltic neck, dates back to the th century. Over 1 100 m above sea level, it dominates the village hidden at its feet and the gorges of the little Rhue de Cheylade. The lace of the walls, built in basaltic resonance essentially, remains impressive and let imagine the power of this fortified site. The Parish Church: ex-muros chapel, in the service of the villagers, is the sister of the intra chapel, whose traces can be seen in the castle (voûte of the chœur, largely collapsed in the north). The altarpieces have been the subject of a recent restoration that gives them exceptional value.
