A little more than 100 inhabitants for this preserved village. The distillation of lavender is part of the local history. Before it was cultivated, the wild lavender was picked on the mountain of Angèle, known as the blue mountain. In July, each family would leave early in the morning to go to their assigned area. The bales were brought down on sledges to the houses to be distilled. Each farm had its own distiller and the essence, which was of very good quality because it was produced at altitude, was sold to the perfumers of Grasse. At the exit of the village, in the direction of Léoux, there is still a still in activity.
