Below the pass of Aulan, the village of Mévouillon sees its chief town, Gresse, placed between the mountains of Buc and Croc. In addition, there are the hamlets of Col, Farette and Pelleret. Dispersed at the three ends of the commune, these are evidence of the fragmentation of a town that has lost its importance. Victim of its power, the fortress and the old village, stronghold of the great family of Mévouillon, were razed in 1684 by order of Richelieu. Nowadays, Mévouillon is known for its lavender and its climbing and paragliding sites, but also the Aderma, an experimental farm of the association of development and research in dry mountains
