Less than 100 inhabitants for this perched, picturesque and preserved village. Eygalayes is located in the extreme south-east of the Drôme department, at an altitude of 722 to 1,484 m, on the border with the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, the Hautes-Alpes and the Vaucluse, from where a magnificent natural environment with rich biodiversity and magnificent panoramas can be seen. Three sites of memory can be discovered in the commune. The war memorial in the village square pays tribute to the victims of the First World War. A commemorative stele of the place where 35 Maquis du Ventoux were shot by the Germans on 22 February 1944 was erected. The national military cemetery of Eygalayes "Aux morts du maquis" shelters the 35 graves of these Maquis.
