Set on a green plateau on the banks of the Rhône, this charming village of 820 inhabitants enjoys a panoramic view of the valley, the Vercors and in the background the Alps chain with Mont Blanc. On the Auvergne side, you can also admire Mont Gerbier des Joncs (source of La Loire). Saint-Barthélemy-le-Plain is surrounded by two rivers, the Duzon and the Doux, along the railway line of the Ardèche small train, the Mastrou. Carved on a mountainside with numerous engineering structures (bridge, viaducts, tunnel), the line is the only way to discover the magnificent landscapes of the Gorges du Doux, a tributary of the Rhône to the north of the Ardèche.
