This commune is home to a real gem: its Romanesque church, the former sanctuary of a Benedictine priory dependent on the abbey of La Chaise-Dieu. Partially destroyed around 1578, during the religious troubles, the monument has kept a Romanesque nave of great purity perfectly preserved. The columns supporting the vaults are surmounted by sculpted capitals where characters appear very distinctly with a scene symbolizing the Trinity. Pranles is also known as the home of the Bouschet-de-Pranles, a high place of French Protestantism, where you can visit the house-museum of Pierre and Marie Durand, resistance fighters and martyrs
