Bordered on both sides by the Rhône, Murs-et-Gélignieux is a typical Bugist village with its traditional houses characterized by an exterior stone staircase. To be seen in the village, a fortified house, often called the castle of Murs, which dates from the 15th century. Interesting small heritage with communal ovens in each hamlet (Oven Festival on the first weekend of May) and several wash houses, one of which is set in a green setting overlooked by a waterfall.
